Styles of jeans and how to wear them regularly
Why is it that every college girl wears leggings (or workout
pants) so frequently? I think it has to do with comfort, of course. But it also
might be because it is less time/thought consuming to throw on leggings.
Whatever excuses you have, there is no denying that you feel better about
yourself the days that you wear a cute outfit. It just makes you feel like you
have your life together!
I don’t really understand why more students don’t wear jeans more
often. If you find the right pair that fits you well, it can be worn so many
ways. The big advantage that jeans have over leggings is that they can be
styled casually or in a more formal way. So here are 3 styles of jeans and how
to dress them up or down.
1. Skinny Jeans

These are the easiest style of jeans to work with, in my opinion,
and that is because they go with any pair of shoes you wear. (Except for maybe
bulky tennis shoes.) In the first look I went with the classic casual look,
jeans and a t-shirt. When dressing up skinny jeans, go with a more polished top
– something that buttons up or a nicer material, like chiffon (tbh I don’t know
that many types of materials) or a material that is flowy that will create a
textural contrast against your jeans. Also, adding high heels will instantly
create a classier look!
If you insist on being super comfortable, I would recommend
getting jeans that are jegging material – the jeans pictured are. These stretch
easily and feel softer. My jeans here are also high waisted, which allows
shirts to be tucked in easily, and can create the illusion of longer legs.
2. Flare Jeans

I hadn’t owned a pair of flare jeans for a while until I bought a
pair this summer. I think I just had the idea that this style of jeans was for
middle schoolers who don’t know what they were doing or businessy women. Well
they can also be for students! In the casual look, once again I went with a
t-shirt and jeans and added the flip flops. For the dressed up look, I chose a
fitted top and heels.
The tricky thing about this style is figuring out how to wear
shoes with it. Honestly, I have tried on many shoes with these jeans that look
stupid. Flip flops and sandals pair well with warm weather, but how do you wear
these jeans in the fall?! What I have discovered is that this style actually
goes well with heels and (some) ankle boots. Overall, just be sure
that your jeans are hemmed to fit you!
3. Boyfriend Jeans

It seems that this style of jeans has gained a lot of popularity
recently! I think what makes these jeans great is that your legs have room to
bReAtHe. Boyfriend jeans can go with lots of things; I think the
trick is adding a feminine touch.
On the left, we have a very comfortable look with a simple v-neck,
necklace, and sandals. On the right, I styled a very busy/patterned look,
with the jeans and a colorful tank top, balanced out with a pair of nude* heels
(*pretty much nude even though they’re pink).
I hope this post was helpful in some way, shape, or form. And if
not, well my dog is cute. Thank you for reading!
